What’s Here
Breathing space
Our chapel is available most of the time for quiet reflection and prayer in the middle of a busy city centre. We often provide art or music to help you slow down and relax. The image shows "Windsails", an art installation by Wendy Rudd, hanging in the Breathing Space.
There is also a "prayer corner" for those who prefer a smaller space in which to be still.
Children’s play area
Our well-stocked children’s play area is a unique space in the city centre for children to play safely in a cafe setting. Parents are requested to supervise their children at all times and to help keep the area tidy.
Coffee Bar
We run a coffee bar as a friendly and spacious place to relax in the city centre.
Our menu includes:
- filled rolls including hot bacon rolls
- soup made fresh on the premises
- delicious home made cakes
- Fairtrade hot and cold drinks including fresh filter coffee
Creche
We run a creche for children aged 18 months to 3 years, 10-11.50am on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays during term-time. We are taking names NOW for the autumn term but please note that creche is not guaranteed to start until after the half term break (from November 2nd) due to Wesley’s Renewal 2010 building work.
The Fair Trade shop
Run by Chester Fair Trading Ltd., a non-profit-making company, the shop is staffed by volunteers and open Mon-Sat 10am-4pm. The stock includes biscuits, tea, coffee, chocolate, cards, jewellery and other craft items.
Producing fair trade goods enables poor people to develop sustainable livelihoods and trade their way out of poverty. By selling such goods (mainly from Traidcraft, the UK’s leading fair trade organisation), we encourage people to buy fair trade goods, to understand the issues and to help bring about justice in trade.
